Background: Numa Numa provides us with definitive proof that it is a bad idea to own a web cam. Sometime in late 2004 an 18 year old NJ teen named Gary Bolsma filmed himself “dancing” to a the song “Dragostea din tei” by a Moldova pop group called O-Zone. Gary uploaded the video to Newgrounds and in a few months he had amassed millions of views.
What Has Happened Since?: A real music video and big money contests….
Maybe i was misleading on that what has happened since teaser. Gary is in a new music video, but it isnt his. It’s Weezer’s “Pork and Beans”, but hey it is something. As for the contest, according to the site NewNuma Gary and some partners he picked up along the way had a contest for people to make and send in there own videos of the new numa song. It is hard to imagine that Gary wasnt able to get more out of his 15 minutes, but at least he did it gracefully and seemed to enjoy himself along the way.
